I am a SNAKE. I like to go FAST. That’s why I need WHEELS! I AM a snake on wheels push toy.

I consider myself both sleek and BEAUTIFUL. I am also ecologically sound; I am built well of sustainably and locally harvested sturdy yellow birch.

I measure approximately 6 1/2 inches x 3.5 inches.

I was holding the snake and it went under my hair along my neck – seemed to like it there and was hanging out and warming up. Then the snake decided to head to the ground – found my belt loop – at one point was through TWO belt loops – and then went for the ground – but we got a picture before repositioning him to prevent escape!

On our way to Miami, Kai and I stopped briefly at Big Cypress National Preserve and walked a few yards down the trail, when this snake was blocking the way. It is a Florida scarlet snake, one of three harmless snakes that resemble the very venomous coral snake (the original can be recognized by its black head and vividly yellow bands next to the red ones). We kept a safe distance anyway.

When we told a ranger about our encounter, he said that we were very lucky to see a snake from such a close distance.
